Faculty members from the City College of Cagayan de Oro played an active role in the recently concluded 2025 Research Summit hosted by the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Senior High School, held under the theme “Breaking Boundaries through Innovation and Research.” Representing CCCDO were Dr. Joel D. Potane, Research Director, and Dr. Ray Butch D. Mahinay, Vice President for Extension and Social Development Services. The two officials served as panelists and judges for the summit’s design thinking booths, which featured innovative student-led research and prototype exhibitions aimed at addressing real-world challenges.

The USTP Research Summit provided a platform for senior high school students to demonstrate their critical thinking and creativity through practical, research-based solutions. Through their participation, Dr. Potane and Dr. Mahinay offered professional insights and constructive feedback to student researchers. This meaningful engagement was made possible through the invitation and gracious hosting of Dr. Maria Angeles Dano- Hinosolango, whose leadership continues to open doors for student researchers to explore, innovate, and contribute to positive change. CCCDO extends its sincere appreciation for her efforts in advancing shared academic goals and fostering inter-institutional collaboration.

The summit concluded with renewed momentum toward research and innovation, with CCCDO’s contribution marking an important step toward sustained collaboration in the academic and development sectors.
