BIONOTE

Dr. Jestoni P. Babia is a distinguished educator and leader who has left an indelible mark on the world of education. With an extensive career spanning several key roles, Dr. Babia's contributions have significantly influenced the academic landscape.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Babia has been appointed by the Malacañan Palace through the former President, Rodrigo Roa Duterte as the Teacher Education Council Visayas Representative by virtue of RA 7836. He has also held the prestigious position of Dean of the School of Education at the University of San Jose – Recoletos (USJ-R) for an impressive seven years. His leadership extended to a one-year tenure as Associate Vice President for Academics and Research at USJ-R, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the institution's academic direction. Additionally, he served as the College Chairman at USJ-R for four years and as the Education for Sustainable Development Director for three years, further illustrating his commitment to educational excellence and sustainability.

Dr. Babia's expertise is not confined to the academic sphere; he has also been sought after for his valuable insights and contributions to national and international consultancies and accreditation efforts. Notably, he served as an ESD Consultant for the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM), showcasing his dedication to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Dr. Babia has also been actively involved in educational accreditation as a CHED RQAT-7 Accreditor and a PAASCU Accreditor. His passion for education has taken him to SEAMEO Bangkok, where he served as an Education for Sustainable Development Fellow.

As a Country Program Manager, he has led numerous education-based projects in partnership with esteemed organizations such as UNESCO, USAID through the University Research Council in Washington DC, Aboitiz Foundation, CBE, DepEd, and the Cebu City Government. Dr. Babia's dedication to teacher training is exemplified by his involvement in conducting over 200 national teacher training sessions.
