CEBU CITY — The Physical Education Faculty of the City College of Cagayan de Oro proudly represented their institution at the 2025 International Physical Education Convention, held from May 14 to 16 at the University of San Jose-Recoletos, in partnership with Cebu Normal University. The event brought together global educators, researchers, and practitioners to celebrate and strengthen the role of PE in holistic development. The convention opened with a powerful keynote from Dr. Aaron Beighle from the United States of America, emphasizing the teacher’s role in shaping school culture through movement. Cultural performances, such as the Tinikling and Sayaw sa Bangko, showcased the integration of heritage and physical education.

Throughout the event, CCCDO faculty actively participated in 1PHYSED TALKS, learning from international experts on topics like AI in inclusive PE, Fitness 3.0, and early childhood development. Local voices also shared insights on research innovation and resilience in education.

The team joined hands-on sessions and certification courses on Arnis, Capoeira, Jump Rope Coaching, and various workshops in dance, yoga, biomechanics, sports leadership, and educational research. These experiences expanded their expertise in both teaching and research.

The event concluded with a collective Oath of Commitment to the 1PhysEdPH community, reinforcing the delegates’ shared mission to inspire, educate, and promote lifelong wellness. For the CCCDO PE Faculty, the convention served as a transformative learning journey—deepening their commitment to quality physical education and bringing back fresh ideas to benefit their students and the broader community.
