Dr. Ray Butch Mahinay and Dr. Joel Potane, faculty members of the City College of Cagayan de Oro, will serve as online judges at the 8th Annual RTX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals, organized by The Henry Ford—a premier platform that celebrates the ingenuity of young inventors across the United States, this coming June 4-6, 2025.

With over 400 student participants, this year’s national convention showcases inventions spanning fields such as health, sustainability, engineering, technology, and space science event featuring testable prototypes and working models created by students from various grade levels.

“Being part of this initiative is both humbling and inspiring,” said Dr. Mahinay. “These young inventors remind us that innovation begins with curiosity and courage and they’ve already taken bold steps to shape the future.” Dr. Potane added, “Each prototype tells a story of perseverance and creativity. It’s amazing to witness students, even at a young age, translating their observations into impactful, real-world solutions.”

With strong support from RTX and The Henry Ford, the Invention Convention continues to cultivate a global culture of innovation, empowering the next generation to think critically, act boldly, and invent
