In an effort to promote mental health and overall well-being in the workplace, the City College of Cagayan de Oro organized a comprehensive wellness activity for its faculty and staff, last May 30, 2025 at the CCCDO Agusan Campus. The event aimed to provide a much-needed opportunity for rest, connection, and rejuvenation. The initiative, led by the Office of the Assistant Department Manager with Mr. Karl Hein Pios as Head Initiator, was a collaborative endeavor supported by several key offices such as— the Human Resource and Management Division, Guidance and Counseling Office, Extension and Sustainable Development Services Office, Healthcare Services Office, Technology Innovation and Data Management Center, Physical Plant Services Office, Physical Education Department, Finance Office, Technical Skills and Technology Institute, and the Office of the Vice President for Administration.
The wellness day featured a variety of engaging activities and services designed to address physical, emotional, and social well-being. Participants took part in Zumba sessions, wellness games, and group learning circles and sharing sessions. Free wellness services such as massages, haircuts, manicures, and pedicures were also made available to all faculty and staff. The event was further enhanced through partnerships with several external organizations. CCCDO extended its appreciation to the Community Improvement Division (CID), Maven Center for Learning and Entrepreneurship, Nature’s Spa, and Ms. Raquel Ang of Eyebrow Embroidery PMU Academy for their valuable contributions to the program.
College President Dr. Jestoni P. Babia expressed full support for the initiative, underscoring the importance of fostering a caring and healthy work environment for all employees. His leadership continues to guide the college’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the well-being of its academic community. The wellness activity highlighted CCCDO’s growing commitment to mental health as a fundamental part of institutional development. Faculty and staff who participated expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting its positive impact on morale and camaraderie.
