On June 2, 2025, the City College of Cagayan de Oro proudly marked another milestone with the formal turnover of its newly installed solar-powered study shed—a safe, sustainable space for students to learn, collaborate and power their devices to support their learning.

The shed was turned over by its project leads Ms. Magi Caroline Ann Mendoza, Project Supervisor, and Ms. Helen Grace Uy, Managing Director of Mindanao Goes Solar. It was then received by Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, College President; and Mr. John Florence Taban, Central Student Government President; on behalf of the entire City College community.

To make the partnership official, a ceremonial signing of the Deed of Donation was held on June 7, 2025, during the Solar Expo at Ayala Malls Centrio Activity Center. Representing the City College were Vice President for Administration Dr. Kurt Candilas and Director James Patrick R. Santos, who led this initiative through the Linkages and Partnerships Office.

This meaningful collaboration reflects the shared vision of empowering students through accessible, innovative, and energy-efficient spaces that promote learning and academic success. Thank you, Mindanao Goes Solar, for helping light the path of every Kagay-anon learner—one solar shed at a time!
