The City College of Cagayan de Oro – Technical Skills and Technology Institute proudly held its 12th Graduation Ceremony on June 23, 2025, at the Ayala Malls Centrio Activity Center. This significant event honored the perseverance, dedication, and accomplishments of 410 graduates who successfully completed their respective technical-vocational programs. With the theme “Building Dreams, Bridging Progress: TVET at the Core of Change,” the ceremony highlighted the vital role of technical-vocational education in promoting inclusive growth, empowering communities, and building a skilled workforce for local and national development. Among the graduates were 63 from Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I, 48 from SMAW NC II, 112 from Housekeeping NC II, 123 from Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II, 14 from Plumbing NC I, and 50 from Barangay Health Services NC II. These graduates are now equipped with practical skills and TESDA-recognized qualifications, enabling them to pursue gainful employment and serve their communities with competence and confidence. In his welcome address, CCCDO President Dr. Jestoni P. Babia warmly congratulated the graduates, acknowledging the challenges they overcame and commending their resilience throughout their training journey. The graduates were formally presented by Vocational School Administrator Mary Vil C. Acenas, MAEd, and officially accepted and confirmed by Dr. Ma. Aira Chenessa B. Aguilar, Vice President for Academic Affairs—symbolizing their readiness to enter the workforce and contribute meaningfully to society.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests who delivered inspirational messages, including Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, Cagayan de Oro City Administrator; Hon. Suzette Magtajas-Daba, Chairperson of the City Council’s Committee on Education; and TESDA-X Regional Director Rafael Y. Abrogar II. Their presence reflected the strong support of both local government and national agencies for CCCDO-TSTI’s continuing efforts in technical-vocational education.

The City College also took the opportunity to express its profound gratitude to Cagayan de Oro City Mayor, Hon. Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy, for his unwavering support and consistent advocacy for education and workforce development in the city.

Delivering the keynote address was Mr. Austolio V. Igot, Chief of the TESDA Region 10 Regional Operations Division. This was followed by a congratulatory message from Mr. Sebastian C. Quiñones Jr., Executive Director of Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc., whose attendance emphasized the value of collaboration between education institutions and industry partners.

The 12th Commencement Ceremony of CCCDO-TSTI was more than just a recognition of academic achievement—it was a reaffirmation of the institution’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of Kagay-anons through quality, inclusive, and industry-responsive technical education. As these newly certified professionals take the next step in their journeys, they carry with them not only new qualifications, but also the promise of creating lasting, positive change in their families, communities, and beyond.
