The City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) officially launched its National Service Training Program (NSTP) for Academic Year 2025–2026 with a General Orientation and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing with the Philippine Air Force (PAF) 8th Air Reserve Center (ARCen) on September 5, 2025, at the Agusan Gymnasium. The event was graced by PAF officers led by LTC Roy R. Lopez, Commanding Officer of the 8th ARCen, together with 2LT Roberto A. Ibaite Jr., P2LT Jhona Mae P. Orongan, AW Jasmin Rose G. Morada, SSG Rhea Liza V. Sanchez, Maj Rommel Quitiong, Sgt Allison Orrin O. Barba (Res), MSG Patricio J. Nuez, and TSG Al-Zahle S. Ahmad.
Representing CCCDO were President Dr. Jestoni P. Babia; Dr. Helmae E. Tapanan, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ray Butch D. Mahinay, Vice President for Extension and Social Development Services; Dr. Kurt S. Candilas, Vice President for Administration; Dr. Joel Potane, Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation; and Prof. Candice May B. Gamayon, NSTP Director.
The orientation featured presentations on the NSTP components: ROTC by TSG Al-Zahle S. Ahmad, CWTS by Ms. Stephanie B. Lomongo, and LTS by Ms. Chery J. Javier. Prof. Gamayon also underscored NSTP’s role in promoting volunteerism, civic consciousness, and sustainable development.
This partnership highlights CCCDO’s commitment to nation-building through education, discipline, and community service, while advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
