The City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO), in partnership with the CDO City Information Office, successfully conducted the LARAW Training-Workshop on Social Media Storytelling Through Lens and Design on September 11–12, 2025 at the Department of Information and Communications Technology – Misamis Oriental Office. The two-day workshop gathered social media coordinators of CCCDO, selected student leaders, and information officers of the Local Government of Cagayan de Oro, equipping them with essential skills in content creation, photography, and graphic design for effective digital communication.
The program opened with remarks from Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, President of CCCDO, who emphasized the importance of empowering communicators to craft meaningful and impactful stories in the digital space. On the first day, participants engaged in a session on Social Media Content Production facilitated by Mr. John David Moncada of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) – CDO. The second day featured sessions on Basic Photography by Mr. Roderic Constantino and Basic Graphic Design by Mr. Jhon Carl Balanza, both from the City Information Office. The event was also graced by Mr. Jade A. Adeser, Acting City Information Officer, who delivered a message of support, highlighting the value of strengthening collaboration between academic institutions and the City Government in advancing responsible information dissemination.
The LARAW Training-Workshop marks another milestone in CCCDO’s efforts to provide dynamic, skills-oriented training opportunities for its students and partners, while also reinforcing its partnership with the City Government of Cagayan de Oro in promoting effective and responsible communication. This initiative also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering capacity building and strengthening collaborations for inclusive development.
