On December 19, 2024, the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) officially launched the first edition of the City College of Cagayan de Oro Student Handbook cum Planner, a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to student empowerment and development.

The launch was attended by students from the three pioneering programs, coinciding with the much-anticipated release of their student identification cards (IDs). The handbook was specifically designed to be functional, serving not only as a reference guide for academic and institutional policies, but also as a practical tool to help students stay organized, plan their schedules, and actively engage in their college journey in the institution.

The meaningful event was graced by the presence of Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, the College President, who expressed his gratitude to the team behind the production of the handbook. Dr. Mark Raymond Tan, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, was also present to explain the different features alongside Ms. Andrea Alexa Joan Ermino, the production head. Besides the policies, calendar, and spaces for notes, the handbook likewise contains detachable forms, which the students can use should the need arise.

Mr. Tan centered on the handbook’s core purpose as a bridge between institutional expectations and student responsibilities. He emphasized that the planner is not merely a compilation of rules and regulations, but a dynamic resource designed to foster student accountability, time management, and a stronger sense of community within the college. Among those present was also Dr. Butch Mahinay, Vice President for Extension and Social Development Services (ESDS), to share in the proud moment of finally unveiling a resource that had long been envisioned as a catalyst for student growth and institutional cohesion.
