In a powerful demonstration of local leadership influencing national education policy, Dr. Mark Raymond Tan, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services at the City College of Cagayan de Oro, has once again been appointed to the Technical Working Group (TWG) that is crafting the Inclusive and Comprehensive Policies and Guidelines on Student Affairs and Services (SAS) for all higher education institutions in the Philippines.
Dr. Tan continues to represent the voice of local colleges and universities, standing as the sole representative from the local college community. His inclusion in the TWG brings to the table not just professional expertise, but also deep grassroots insights, community-grounded perspectives, and an unwavering commitment to championing student-centered, inclusive policies that reflect the realities and aspirations of learners across various regions. The TWG is composed of national experts, seasoned practitioners, and institutional leaders who collectively shape the direction and content of the new SAS guidelines. Their goal: to establish a unified, equity-driven framework that ensures responsive, holistic support for Filipino students in both public and private institutions.
This significant milestone will not only benefit City College of CDO but also elevate SAS for every student and educator across the country who strives for meaningful, responsive, and equitable student services.
