The City College of Cagayan de Oro formally received the first batch of tools and consumables for the Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II program from Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) on July 29, 2025. This turnover is part of the ongoing collaboration under the Sanayan sa Kakayahang Industriyal (SKIL) Program, aimed at equipping Kagay-anon youth with industry-relevant skills for employment and sustainable livelihoods.
Since the partnership’s formalization on July 25, 2024, CCCDO and PSFI have worked hand-in-hand to provide technical-vocational training, employment support, and financial assistance to scholars, contributing to their successful job placement and long-term career growth.
Representing PSFI was Mr. Marco Valdez, Program Officer, while CCCDO was represented by Dr. Butch Mahinay, Vice President for Extensions and Social Development Services; Ms. Omiya Linog, Vocational School Administrator; Mr. Romulo Araña, EIM NC II Trainer; and Mr. James Patrick Santos, Director for Linkages and Partnerships.
This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, reaffirming the shared commitment of both institutions to foster inclusive opportunities and drive socio-economic progress in Cagayan de Oro City.
