The College of Education of City College of Cagayan de Oro participated in the Consultative Meeting and Re-Learning session on Policies, Standards, and Guidelines for the Teacher Education Program, held at N Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City on August 8, 2025, facilitated by the Commission on Higher Education - Region X.

The event gathered various stakeholders to review and refresh their understanding of policies shaping teacher education, and to ensure alignment of academic delivery with current CHED mandates and quality assurance frameworks. The meeting emphasized the importance of integrating recent policy developments into classroom instruction, practicum supervision, and program assessment to maintain the relevance and competitiveness of the institution’s teacher education offerings.

Dr. Liza L. Chua, Dean, College of Education; and Dr. Charlito M. Castrodes, Associate Dean, College of Education, represented the college at this significant gathering. The meeting offered attendees an opportunity to discuss the evolving standards and guidelines necessary to ensure quality education, updates on program outcomes, curriculum standards, and institutional compliance requirements. Aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, and national frameworks.

This initiative demonstrates the college’s steadfast commitment to staying updated and responsive to developments in teacher education, ensuring its programs remain timely, impactful, and capable of equipping future educators with the skills and competencies they need.
