A historic milestone has been achieved by the City College of Cagayan de Oro, the only local college in Visayas and Mindanao to earn this recognition — as it was formally honored by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region X for its international triumphs in the 2025 global university rankings on August 19, 2025, at Cagayan de Oro City.

In the awarding ceremony, CCCDO was recognized for securing: • 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗧𝗛𝗘) 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝟭𝟬𝟬𝟭–𝟭𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 • 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗪𝗨𝗥𝗜) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝟱𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

CHED Region X Officer-in-Charge Dr. Arlita Amapola B. Minguez lauded CCCDO’s dedication to internationalization and its contributions to raising the stature of Philippine higher education in the global arena.

“This recognition is not just for the College, but for the people of Cagayan de Oro, under the vision and leadership of Mayor Rolando Klarex Uy” said College President III, Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, as he received the award on behalf of the institution. “It proves that even as a young college, we can already make a global impact through excellence, innovation, and inclusivity.”

The achievement positions CCCDO as a beacon of pride for Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao, and the entire Philippines, showcasing that world-class education and student engagement can thrive even in a young local college. Indeed, from CDO to the world, City College is now on the global education map!
