On June 5, 2025, the trainees of the Technical Skills and Technology Institute (TSTI) at City College of Cagayan de Oro participated in the 𝘈𝘨𝘢𝘬: Career Mentorship Program, held in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Cagayan de Oro.
Resource speakers Ms. Kathleen Kate "Kitkat" Sorilla and Ms. Ruffa Espares from PESO CDO shared valuable insights on key career readiness topics, including workplace etiquette, navigating diverse work environments, current in-demand industries, effective business correspondence, and strategies to succeed in job interviews.
The program aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education) and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strategic partnerships. It contributes to quality education, improved employment outcomes, and the empowerment of young people entering the workforce.
In addition, this initiative highlights the importance of career guidance and professional development in helping trainees confidently transition from training to employment. It also reflects the institution's ongoing commitment to nurturing competent, well-prepared, and industry-ready graduates.
