Throughout the past week, students of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) from the City College of Cagayan de Oro actively participated in a meaningful Community Immersion and Service Learning Activity in Barangay Agusan. The initiative aimed to foster community engagement, promote social responsibility, and provide students with opportunities to apply their classroom learning in real-world settings.
Under the supervision of their instructors, the students rendered various services tailored to the needs of the community. These included clean-up drives, basic literacy sessions, health awareness campaigns, assistance with barangay operations, and meaningful interactions with local residents to better understand local concerns and challenges.
The City College of Cagayan de Oro extends its sincere appreciation to Punong Barangay Andrew E. Melliza for his warm reception and support, which made the students' immersion experience both welcoming and productive.
Special recognition is also given to the NSTP teamโMs. Stephanie Lomongo, CWTS Coordinator; Ms. Chery Mae Javier, LTS Coordinator; and Ms. Candice May Gamayon, NSTP Directorโfor their leadership and dedication in facilitating the week-long program. Their efforts were instrumental in ensuring the success and impact of this community-centered initiative.
