The Central Student Government (CSG) of City College of Cagayan de Oro was officially recognized during its oath-taking ceremony held on November 4, 2024, at the Multi-Purpose Building in Barangay Carmen. The oath was administered by Mayor Rolando "Klarex" A. Uy, affirming the mandate of the student leaders to serve as the official representatives of the CCCDO student body.
The event highlighted the CSG's role in bridging students with the city's governance framework, ensuring that their voices and concerns are heard beyond the campus. It also underscored the commitment of the institution to promote participatory governance, leadership development, and civic engagement among its learners.
This milestone likewise reflected the essence of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by advancing SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions through strengthening student representation, SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration with the local government, and SDG 4: Quality Education by empowering students to lead and contribute to social development.
