The City College of Cagayan de Oro continues its efforts to empower the local community through educational initiatives and partnerships.

Dr. Ray Butch Mahinay, LPT, Vice President for Extension and Social Development Services, shared insights on effective community development strategies, emphasizing participatory action research and the integration of local knowledge. He highlighted the role of evidence-based approaches in creating sustainable extension projects and achieving lasting community impact.

Following this, Herna Francis Mae B. Tano, MM, Director of the Extension & Outreach Office, detailed the services and support offered by their office. She also shared best practices in project management and community engagement, emphasizing the importance of strategic planning for successful and impactful extension initiatives.

Meanwhile, Ms. Rio Hillary Dalman, Director of the Human Resources Office, discussed the Faculty Merit System, emphasizing its role in recognizing and rewarding faculty contributions to community extension. She outlined the criteria for merit awards, the evaluation process, and the system's benefits in encouraging faculty participation. Her presentation highlighted the role of incentives in fostering a culture of service and excellence.

Concluding the discussions, Mr. Jerome L. Torres, MAEd, Director of the Lifelong Learning & Professional Development Office, introduced the Logical Framework for Sustainable Projects, providing practical tools for planning and execution. He discussed logic models, goal-setting techniques, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks to ensure project effectiveness.
