On January 8, 2025, the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) held a strategic alignment meeting at 1:00 PM in the City College Academic Affairs Office to advance research and innovation initiatives for the city.
Facilitated by Prof. Jonathan A. Madronero, Vice President of the Urban Nexus Licensing, Intellectual Property, Research, Innovation, and Creative Enterprise (UNLIRICE) Office, and Dr. Joel D. Potane, Director for Research, the discussions focused on innovative approaches to addressing urban challenges. Notable contributions included proposals by Mr. Temoteo L. Chavez of CEEBDA (City Economic Enterprises and Business Development Administration) on waste management, market digitization, and strengthening local vendor ecosystems—all aligned with the city’s development goals.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing insights and refining ideas for meaningful outcomes. The facilitators expressed their appreciation for the commitment of the attendees, concluding the meeting with actionable steps for implementing the proposed initiatives.
