The City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) came alive with color, energy, and creativity as it celebrated BACOMM Days 2025 on October 28–29 at the CCCDO Covered Court. With the theme “Empowering Future Communicators: Driving Change through Innovation, Inclusion, and Sustainable Solutions,” the two-day event brought together Bachelor of Arts in Communication students in a showcase of skill, teamwork, and passion.

From the very start, the celebration turned the campus into a lively space buzzing with excitement. Students from different year levels participated in contests that tested their communication skills, creativity, and ability to work under pressure. The event was not only a series of friendly competitions but also a learning experience where classroom lessons came to life through practice and collaboration.

Among the most anticipated activities were the Live Anchor Broadcasting, Radio Broadcasting and Scriptwriting, Spelling Bee, Essay Writing, Digital Poster-Making, and the thrilling Amazing Race. Each contest highlighted the different talents of Communication students. The broadcasting events displayed their confidence and storytelling abilities, while the Amazing Race added an adventurous twist that tested their teamwork and problem-solving skills. Every challenge encouraged participants to communicate clearly, think fast, and support one another—values that are essential for future media professionals.

The final day ended with an awarding ceremony that filled the venue with cheers and applause. Winners were recognized for their hard work, creativity, and determination. More than the medals and certificates, however, students walked away with memories, friendships, and lessons that will shape their journey as future communicators.

Dr. Donna Grace Cotejo, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, shared the core reason behind the annual event. She stated that, “The main goal of celebrating BAComm Days 2025 is to provide our Communication students with a dynamic platform where they can apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-world, creative, and socially relevant contexts. This annual celebration goes beyond competition—it is a celebration of ideas, collaboration, and communication excellence in their skills and talents. It emphasizes the roles of College of Arts and Sciences in sharpening the capacity of BaComm students.”

Dr. Cotejo expressed immense pride in all the participants. She encouraged the students to continue to learn, develop their skills, and shine brightly as the next generation of communicators because, as she proudly said, “bright ta” from Artes et Scientiae, the experts of their craft.

As the curtains closed on BACOMM Days 2025, the spirit of teamwork, creativity, and excellence continued to shine across the campus. The event not only strengthened the bond among students but also reminded them of their purpose as future communicators to inform, inspire, and create positive change. With passion and collaboration at the heart of every activity, BACOMM Days 2025 truly reflected the bright and promising future of CCCDO’s BA Communication students. (MABS/ONP)
