The Research Writing Seminar-Workshop held on November 26, 2024, at Opra National High School, Kalunasan, Cebu City, proved to be a highly engaging and insightful learning experience for both teachers and students. The event aimed to strengthen participants’ competencies in academic research writing and to encourage a culture of inquiry and evidence-based learning within the school community.


Serving as the Resource Speaker, Dr. Donna Grace Cotejo, College Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the City College of Cagayan de Oro, captivated the audience with her expertise, clarity, and approachable teaching style. Dr. Cotejo shared her deep knowledge of research writing, walking participants through the essential components of a well-structured research paper—ranging from topic formulation and problem identification to methodology development and data analysis.


With her signature blend of wit and wisdom, Dr. Cotejo reminded participants to “not overthink” the process of writing research but instead to focus on clarity, purpose, and relevance.
