City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) has achieved a historic milestone as it was formally inducted as the first Local University College (LUC) to join the DOST–Northern Mindanao Consortium for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (NorMinCIEERD). The induction took place during the Consortium’s Governing Board Meeting held on November 12, 2025, at N Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
A key highlight of the event was the Oath-Taking Ceremony of CCCDO President Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, administered by NorMinCIEERD Chair and USTP System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II. With this, CCCDO officially becomes the 31st Member Institution of the consortium, marking its strengthened presence in the region’s growing research and innovation landscape.
As the first LUC to be accepted, CCCDO brings a community-rooted and development-focused perspective to the consortium’s research agenda. The Governing Board welcomed the college with enthusiasm, recognizing its rapid growth, its emerging research culture, and its strong alignment with science-based regional priorities. This membership enhances the representation of local higher education institutions and opens expanded opportunities for collaboration in the Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology (IEET) sectors.
In line with this milestone, CCCDO reaffirms its commitment to advancing research excellence and fostering innovation-driven collaborations that support sustainable and community-responsive development across Northern Mindanao.
