City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) served as a co-presenter in the 3rd International Conference and 24th National Convention of APNIEVE Philippines, held from November 21 to 23, 2025 at the Audio-Visual Room of Liceo de Cagayan University. Themed “GenAI and Education: Advancing Human Values Toward Sustainable Development in an Automated World,” the three-day forum convened 128 in-person delegates and 90 online participants from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The event opened with a powerful cultural performance by the Oro Dayaw Dance Troupe of CCCDO, setting the tone for three days of dialogue on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of education and workforce development.

“As generative AI reshapes the landscape of learning, communication, and decision-making, we are called to ensure that innovation remains grounded in ethics, peace, and human dignity,” said Dr. Maria Lourdes Quisumbing-Baybay, National President of APNIEVE Philippines, in her opening remarks.

As part of its co-presenting role, City College of CDO helped frame national conversations on how AI intersects with values formation, teacher roles, and student empowerment. The keynote presentations emphasized not only the promise of emerging technologies but the urgency of guiding them with ethical purpose.

The event’s discussions underscored a shared message: AI must serve human well-being. Generative AI can support learning and collaboration, but only if guided by empathy, integrity, and social purpose.

“Technology should always lift people up,” one panelist shared during the plenary. “With the right values, GenAI can help create learning spaces grounded in peace, respect, and shared humanity.”

By serving as a co-presenter, City College of Cagayan de Oro commits to nation-building through education that is ethical, inclusive, and future-ready. This aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals— SDG 4 and 17, which emphasize accessible learning, values-driven leadership, and strengthened collaborations. CCCDO’s participation in this international forum reflects its vision to be at the forefront of academic innovation and values-based leadership in Mindanao and beyond
