The Peer Facilitators' Circle orientation was held on October 29, 2024, facilitated by the Registered Guidance Counselor, Faith Quinal-Colarte, RGC, aiming to equip City College of Cagayan de Oro students with social, emotional, and academic tools to thrive as peer facilitators. The workshop emphasized the importance of peer facilitation and counseling in fostering growth, understanding, and support within the school community. The objective of the activity are:
To cultivate a strong sense of responsibility among students by fostering a culture of initiative and volunteerism.
To empower students to reach their full potential and promote holistic development.
To increase motivation and academic competence to empower students to excel in their studies.
The workshop was an empowering experience that highlighted the importance of peer facilitation and counseling in fostering growth, understanding, and support within our school. Participants delved into practical approaches and skills that will allow them to connect with others on a deeper level and provide meaningful guidance.
Participants learned the value of active listening and empathy in helping others navigate challenges, the importance of creating a safe space for peers to express themselves freely was emphasized and participants gained techniques to enhance their communication, leadership, and facilitation skills.
The session equipped participants not only with knowledge but also with the motivation to be agents of positive change in their circles. As they continue to unlock their potential, they are reminded that leadership is not just about guiding others but also about empowering them to find their voice and purpose.
