As part of its continuing commitment to academic quality and instructional excellence, the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO), through the General Education Program, successfully conducted the 2025 General Education Curriculum (GEC) Training on November 12–14, 2025, at the CCCDO Agusan Campus.

A total of 69 faculty members from CCCDO, USTP campuses, and Opol Community College participated in the three-day training, which focused on strengthening the delivery of CHED-mandated GE courses through collaborative, outcomes-based, and contextualized approaches.

The training opened with a plenary session conducted by Dr. Nathalie T. Igot, Lead Trainer. Faculty members then engaged in breakout sessions for each GE course facilitated by seasoned trainers: Dr. Josephine C. Visande for Understanding the Self, Prof. Kennet G. Cuarteros for Mathematics in the Modern World, Prof. Winston B. Gallinero for Ethics, Prof. Oliver N. Plaza for The Contemporary World, Dr. Nathalie T. Igot for Readings in Philippine History, and Dr. Ramir Philip Jones V. Sonsona for Art Appreciation. The sessions offered opportunities for deep content alignment, discussion of instructional strategies, and material development.

The successful completion of the GEC Training affirms CCCDO’s dedication to capacity-building and inter-institutional collaboration, and sets the foundation for more innovative and student-responsive instruction in the semesters ahead.
