The Quarter 4 Orientation Seminar (ORSEM) of the City College of Cagayan de Oro – Technical Skills and Technology Institute (CCCDO–TSTI) was successfully conducted on October 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the CCCDO Audio Visual Room. The activity was organized by the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) in coordination with the Technical Instruction and Development Management and Administration Committee (TIDMAC), with the primary objective of orienting trainees on institutional policies, training processes, student services, and the overall TSTI framework.

The program commenced with the registration of participants from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM, accompanied by audio-visual presentations and announcements encouraging participants to like and follow the official CCCDO social media pages. This was followed by the preliminaries, which included the opening prayer, the singing of the National Anthem, and the CCCDO Hymn, setting a formal and unified tone for the seminar.

The Kamustahan and Roll Call of Qualifications was facilitated by the host, allowing participants to actively engage and acknowledge their respective training qualifications. This segment helped establish rapport and foster a sense of belonging among the trainees.

The Welcome Message was delivered by Dr. Helmae E. Tapanan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who emphasized the importance of orientation in guiding trainees toward academic success and professional readiness. This was followed by an Inspirational Message from Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, City College President, who motivated the participants to maximize the opportunities offered by CCCDO–TSTI and to uphold discipline, perseverance, and excellence throughout their training journey.

A short photo opportunity was conducted to document the event, after which an icebreaker activity, “Guess the Gibberish,” was facilitated to energize the participants and encourage interaction. The activity focused on words related to TSTI training, making it both engaging and relevant.

The program continued with the Presentation of Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, led by Mr. Karl Hein M. Pios, LPT, Vocational School Administrator. This segment allowed trainees to become familiar with the personnel who would be guiding and supporting them throughout their training.

One of the highlights of the seminar was the “Get to Know CCCDO & TSTI” session and the Introduction of the TSTI Training Framework, conducted in three phases. Phase 1, which focused on CCCDO, TSTI, and the overall training structure, was presented by Mr. Mark Adrian S. Baa, OIC–Vocational Instruction Supervisor, with supplemental inputs from Ms. Cherry Hope C. Casiño, LPT, Focal Person for Learning Support and Services. Phase 2 discussed Supervised Industry Learning and Assessment, facilitated by Ms. Ghay Marie P. Managase, LPT, Industry Coordinator for Tourism, and Ms. Rutche E. Montaño, Manager of the Assessment Center. Phase 3, which focused on employment pathways, was again discussed by Mr. Baa, emphasizing career readiness and post-training opportunities. Each phase included a question-and-answer portion to address trainees’ concerns and clarifications.

At 11:05 AM, Mr. Crysvenne Bislig, Coordinator of the Office of the Director for Institutional Student Programs and Services, presented the Services Offered by the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) and discussed the Student Discipline Process. This session provided clear guidance on student support mechanisms, rights and responsibilities, and proper conduct within the institution.

An energizer activity featuring an immersive interactive warm-up video was conducted to re-energize participants before the concluding part of the program. The seminar formally concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by Mr. Karl Hein M. Pios, LPT, who expressed gratitude to all speakers, organizers, and participants for their active involvement and cooperation.

Finally, the event wrap-up and program evaluation were facilitated by the host, allowing participants to reflect on the activity and provide feedback. Overall, the Quarter 4 Orientation Seminar was successfully conducted and effectively met its objectives of informing, guiding, and motivating trainees as they begin their training for the quarter.
