Grounded in our vision of a shared and celebrated commitment toward an empowered community, the Consultative and Exploratory Meeting unfolded through a purposeful and meaningful program that reflected unity, dialogue, and collective resolve. The activity formally commenced with the preliminaries—Doxology, the National Anthem, and the CCCdO Hymn—setting a solemn and reflective tone for collaboration . The Opening Remarks delivered by the Director of Student Welfare Services emphasized the importance of strengthening Student Affairs and Services (SAS) through cooperation among Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) in Region X, followed by the introduction of participants and institutions, which highlighted the diversity and shared aspirations of the gathering.

The Inspirational Message from the President of the City College of Cagayan de Oro further reinforced the collective responsibility of SAS practitioners to remain relevant, responsive, and student-centered amid changing times . Central to the program were the keynote messages and in-depth discussions on “Compliance vs. Relevance: Charting the Direction of Student Affairs and Services amidst Changing Times” and the proposed Consortium for SAS Practitioners in Region X, led by key leaders from CHED Regional Office X and experienced SAS practitioners . These discussions fostered critical reflection, knowledge-sharing, and the exchange of best practices, culminating in an open reporting and feedback session where participants shared the current state of SAS in their respective institutions.

The meeting concluded with the Signing of Commitment, symbolizing a unified pledge toward sustained collaboration and shared advocacy, and was capped by closing remarks that echoed gratitude, hope, and a forward-looking vision for the SAS community in Region X . Through this landmark gathering, the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) and the entire SAS Cluster remain grateful and optimistic that the foundations laid by this program will launch enduring partnerships, continuous dialogue, and a stronger, more empowered SAS network across the region.
