The City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) has taken a significant step toward advancing research and academic collaboration by hosting a Collaborative Online Exploratory Meeting with the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJR) on March 20, 2025.
This initiative reflects CCCDO’s commitment to Research, Innovation, and Creative Enterprise, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the 1st International Research Conference and the 2nd Higalaay Multidisciplinary Research Festival 2025, as well as a potential research partnership between CCCDO and USJR.
The meeting featured Dr. Englevert P. Reyes, Director of the USJR Center for Policy, Research & Development Studies, who provided insights into the collaboration and its impact on the academic community. Discussions centered on co-organizing the international conference and exploring opportunities to publish selected research papers in the Recoletos Multidisciplinary Research Journal, a Scopus-indexed publication.
Prof. Jonathan A. Madronero, Vice President of UNLIRICE, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of research dissemination and the strategic collaboration with USJR to enhance research visibility and impact.
Facilitated by Dr. Joel D. Potane, CCCDO Director for Research, the meeting provided a platform for in-depth discussions on promoting academic innovation, research publication, and long-term sustainability in research initiatives.
This collaborative effort underscores CCCDO’s vision of strengthening research culture, expanding academic partnerships, and providing faculty and students with opportunities to engage in high-impact scholarly work.
Next steps include formalizing the partnership, finalizing publication plans, and organizing capacity-building programs to support researchers in meeting international publication standards.
