A partnership built on service, discipline, and shared vision reaches a meaningful milestone.


On February 24, 2026, the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) hosted the Exit Call of LTC Roy R. Lopez PAF (GSC), Commanding Officer of the 8th Air Reserve Center (ARCen), at the Office of the President.


The meeting was led by the OIC to the President, Dr. Ray Butch D. Mahinay, Vice President for Extension & Social Development Services, together with Ms. Candice May B. Gamayon, National Service Training Program (NSTP) Director. The gathering served as a formal gesture of gratitude for the unwavering support the 8th ARCen has provided to the institution under the Colonel’s distinguished leadership.


This partnership reflects CCCDO’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. These initiatives strengthen the bond between the academic community and the Armed Forces in building a resilient and prepared society.


In recognition of his impactful tenure, CCCDO presented LTC Lopez with a Certificate of Appreciation and a token of gratitude. The citation highlights his vital role in strengthening the connection between the AFP Reserve Command and the youth, contributing significantly to disaster preparedness and social responsibility.


Through the collaboration between the NSTP Office and the 8th ARCen, students have been empowered to become proactive citizens. LTC Lopez has been a cornerstone in fostering a culture of patriotism on campus, ensuring that students are not only academically prepared but also socially responsible leaders of tomorrow.


As he concludes his tenure, the CCCDO community extends its sincerest appreciation for his professionalism and his enduring legacy of public service.
