The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. – Northern Mindanao Region Librarians Council (PLAI-NMRLC) paid tribute to its outgoing officers for their exemplary service and leadership during the Turnover Ceremony and First Quarter Meeting held on January 10, 2026, at Pilgrim Christian College, Executive Hall, Cagayan de Oro City.

The event highlighted the organization’s deep appreciation for the officers who dedicated their time, expertise, and commitment to advancing the goals of the council for the term 2024–2025. Through their leadership, PLAI-NMRLC continued to strengthen professional collaboration, promote innovation in librarianship, and support the growth of library services across Northern Mindanao.

A key highlight of the ceremony was the awarding of Plaques of Commendation to the outgoing officers, formally presented by the incoming President, Prof. Warlinda M. Caguimbaga, Chief Librarian of Pilgrim Christian College. The gesture symbolized both gratitude for past leadership and confidence in the organization’s continuing legacy under new stewardship.

Among the honorees, Dr. Melody R. Agcito, who served as President for the 2024–2025 term, was given special recognition for her sincere dedication, strong leadership, and unwavering commitment to PLAI-NMRLC. Her contributions significantly advanced the organization’s programs and strengthened its impact across the region.

The recognition serves not only as a token of appreciation but also as an inspiration for current and future leaders of PLAI-NMRLC to uphold excellence, unity, and innovation within the library profession.

The recognition of Dr. Agcito and other officers supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 5 – Gender Equality, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering professional growth, empowering women leaders, and promoting collaboration among library institutions.
