Celebrating Women’s Leadership: College Library Services Office Highlights Purple Shelves Campaign

The College Library Services Office proudly marked its participation in the 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙬𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙎𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙜𝙣 in celebration of National Women’s Month 2026, an initiative by the Philippine Group of Law Librarians, Inc. The campaign carried the theme “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society” and the sub-theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, honoring the wisdom, courage, and leadership of Filipina women. 

As part of the initiative, the library curated a special Purple Shelves collection, showcasing selected resources on women’s rights, gender equality, leadership, and the significant contributions of women in society. The collection successfully promoted awareness, learning, and meaningful conversations on women’s empowerment within the academic community.

This effort also supported Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality, advancing the goal of achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.

The College Library Services Office thanks everyone who visited the Purple Shelves and engaged with the inspiring stories, leadership, and achievements of women highlighted in the collection, helping make the campaign a meaningful celebration of women’s empowerment.
