The Extension and Social Development Services (ESDS) cluster of City College of Cagayan de Oro, led by ESDS Vice President Dr. Ray Butch D. Mahinay, conducted a benchmarking activity at Central Mindanao University on March 5, 2026.

Joining the delegation was NSTP Director Prof. Candice May B. Gamayon, together with representatives from the ESDS and NSTP offices. The team paid a courtesy call at the Presidentโ€™s Office and was warmly received by the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, Dr. Alan P. Dargantes, along with NSTP Director Heherson B. Guinnto and University Registrar Louiela B. Joromat. The benchmarking visit focused on learning best practices in the implementation and management of the National Service Training Program (NSTP), particularly in the areas of the National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) and the ROTC unit.

The activity aimed to strengthen institutional systems for community engagement and service-learning programs, enhance administrative and operational processes of NSTP, and foster collaboration between institutions in advancing student leadership and civic responsibility. The visit yielded valuable insights on effective program management, student engagement strategies, and community-based initiatives that support nation-building and disaster preparedness. This initiative contributes to the attainment of Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, as it promotes quality learning experiences, civic participation, and innovative practices that prepare students to become socially responsible and community-oriented citizens.
