The City College of Cagayan de Oro proudly congratulates City Mayor Hon. Rolando “Klarex” Uy on the successful delivery of his 4th State of the City Address (SOCA), held in celebration of Cagayan de Oro’s 67th Charter Day on July 15, 2026, highlighting the continued progress and transformative initiatives shaping the future of Cagayan de Oro City.

As the city government’s higher education institution, CCCDO recognizes the unwavering support and commitment of Mayor Uy in advancing accessible, inclusive, and globally competitive education for the youth and people of Cagayan de Oro. Since his administration established and strengthened the college, it has continued to flourish as a center for academic excellence, innovation, sustainability, and community empowerment. Through the city government’s strong investment in education, the institution has earned significant recognitions both locally and internationally, bringing pride not only to the college but to the entire City of Cagayan de Oro.

Among the college’s landmark achievements is its inclusion in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, placing within the Rank 1001–1500 bracket out of thousands of universities worldwide. CCCDO also gained international recognition from the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), ranking among the Top 56 universities globally for student support and engagement. Further strengthening its global presence, the institution earned recognition in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, placing 1253rd worldwide, 73rd nationally, and 7th in Northern Mindanao, reflecting the administration’s continued advocacy for sustainability and environmental responsibility within educational spaces. In the field of academic and research excellence, CCCDO was also recognized in the AD Scientific Index (World Scientist and University Rankings), ranking 103rd among Public Higher Education Institutions and 182nd among Higher Education Institutions in the Philippines.

Earlier this year, the institution was recognized, yet again, by the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) for placing Top 55 and Top 56 worldwide for Culture & Values and Curricular Innovation for Future-Readiness, respectively.

Under Mayor Klarex’s leadership, the college likewise achieved numerous local milestones, including being named 1st Runner-Up in the CHED Region X ICONS Award under the Sustainability Category and receiving the Best Implementer Award for Student Development and Services. The administration’s support also enabled the institution to expand its academic and technical-vocational programs, resulting in the CCCDO’s Technical Skills and Technology Institute's achievement of a 100% TESDA Compliance Rate during the intra-region compliance audit, the opening of 3 additional degree programs, and the college’s accreditation as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Provider under the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

Research and internationalization initiatives also continue to thrive through the production of multiple research studies and successful partnerships with institutions such as Okayama University. Moreover, CCCDO strengthened its commitment to inclusivity and cultural preservation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Higaonon Tribe. These achievements stand as a testament to Mayor Rolando Uy’s vision of transforming education into a powerful instrument for progress, empowerment, and social development. Through his steadfast leadership and dedication to public service, CCCDO continues to rise as a beacon of hope and opportunity for the youth and future generations of Cagayan de Oro.

Congratulations, Mayor Klarex Uy, on your successful 4th State of the City Address and for championing initiatives that continue to elevate the quality of education and opportunities for every Kagay-anon!
