City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) proudly celebrates the successful publication of a new research study titled “𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞”, published in the Journal of Interdisciplinary Perspectives. This scholarly work is authored by Dr. Mark Raymond S. Tan, Prof. Jonathan A. Madronero, Ms. Andrea Alexa Joan V. Ermino, and Roshmond Roi Entrina of City College of Cagayan de Oro.
The study explored innovative ways of interpreting student satisfaction data through the use of Chernoff Face visualization, a graphical technique that translates multiple variables into facial features for easier interpretation and analysis. Conducted among 256 students of a local college in Cagayan de Oro City, the research assessed satisfaction across various student affairs and support services including learning spaces, campus safety and security, guidance and counseling, registrar services, library services, canteen operations, health services, ICT, athletics, finance, and other student support programs.
The research highlights the value of Chernoff Face visualization as a practical tool for higher education institutions in understanding complex satisfaction indicators and identifying areas requiring service improvement. By transforming numerical satisfaction data into visual representations, the study demonstrates how institutions can make data interpretation more accessible and actionable for administrators and stakeholders.
This publication contributes to the growing body of research on student support systems, quality assurance, and data-driven decision-making in higher education. It also reinforces the importance of continuously improving student affairs and services to ensure holistic student development and institutional effectiveness.
This achievement reflects CCCDO’s unwavering commitment to research excellence, innovation, and evidence-based educational development in support of quality higher education.
