JAKARTA, Indonesia โ Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, Founding President of the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCdO), formally received the institutionโs latest global sustainability ranking during the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) 2026, which began on June 22 and will culminate on June 25, 2026.
CCCdO recorded a significant leap in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, advancing from the 1001โ1500 band in 2025 to the 801โ1000 band globally in 2026. The achievement places the college among Region Xโs top-performing higher education institutions in sustainability and contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Based on data released by CHED, CCCdO ranked third among Region X higher education institutions included in the 2026 THE Impact Rankings, following Mindanao State UniversityโIligan Institute of Technology and Misamis University.
The recognition was presented during GSDC 2026, a global gathering of university leaders, policymakers, researchers, industry experts, and sustainability advocates focused on advancing sustainable development worldwide.
Dr. Babia credited the milestone to the unwavering support of the local government of Cagayan de Oro, particularly City Mayor Rolando โKlarexโ Uy and Councilor Jing โAmajingโ Daba, for their commitment to strengthening higher education and institutional growth.
โThis international recognition reflects our collective efforts to provide quality, globally competitive education and create meaningful impact in our communities,โ Dr. Babia said.
The improved ranking further strengthens CCCdOโs growing international profile. Despite being one of the country's youngest local colleges, the institution continues to gain global recognition for its commitment to academic excellence, sustainability, and community development, helping elevate Cagayan de Oro Cityโs presence on the international higher education stage.
