On June 22โ23, 2026, the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCdO) gathered its administrators, faculty, and staff members for the Midyear Evaluation cum Synergy Summit (MYESS) 2026, held at Apple Tree Resort & Hotel, Opol, Misamis Oriental, reaffirming its commitment to quality assurance, strategic growth, and organizational excellence.
The two-day summit served as a vital platform for assessing institutional performance, aligning priorities, and setting the direction for the remainder of the year. Anchored on the pursuit of continuous improvement, the event brought together key stakeholders in a collaborative effort to strengthen systems, enhance accountability, and advance the collegeโs strategic goals.
Day one focused on performance evaluation and accomplishment review, beginning with a comprehensive discussion of the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) facilitated by Ms. Bernadette Ann R. Paalam. The session underscored the importance of aligning individual and departmental performance with the collegeโs overall mission and objectives.
Major institutional clustersโincluding the Administration, ESDS, OSAS, RITTS, Academics, and the Office of the Presidentโpresented their Department Performance Commitment and Review (DPCR) accomplishments. Each presentation was followed by constructive discussions and critiquing sessions, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.
Building on the gains of the first day, the second day shifted toward strategic planning and organizational development. Participants were introduced to the collegeโs new organizational structure and policy on tenureship, both designed to strengthen institutional stability, promote professional growth, and support long-term sustainability.
The summit culminated in cluster-based strategic planning workshops, where participants conducted SWOT analyses and identified priority targets for July to December 2026. These plans were subsequently presented in a plenary session, allowing for collective feedback and ensuring alignment with the collegeโs institutional direction toward 2027.
More than a performance review exercise, MYESS 2026 served as a strategic convergence of ideas, insights, and shared commitments. By combining rigorous evaluation with forward-looking planning, CCCdO continues to reinforce a culture of excellence and innovation in its pursuit of delivering quality education and meaningful service to the community.
