The City College of Cagayan de Oro strengthened its commitment to disaster preparedness as it actively participated in the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026, at 8:30 A.M.
Held at the schoolโs campus in Zone 2, Agusan, Cagayan de Oro City, the drill was facilitated by Mr. Romulo L. Arana, Alternate Safety Officer, in compliance with Memorandum No. MA-1914-26 issued by the Office of the City Administrator of Cagayan de Oro City.
Students, faculty members, deans, and non-teaching personnel took part in the earthquake simulation, demonstrating the institutionโs collective readiness to respond effectively during emergencies. The activity aimed to enhance awareness, strengthen safety practices, and equip the CCCdO community with the necessary knowledge and skills in times of disaster.
Beyond compliance with the directives of the Office of Civil Defense, CCCdO continues to prioritize disaster risk reduction and management initiatives as part of its commitment to building a safer and more resilient academic community. Through activities such as the NSED, the institution reinforces the importance of preparedness, vigilance, and coordinated action in protecting lives during earthquakes and other calamities.
