City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) proudly celebrates the successful publication of a new research study titled “Enhancing Students’ Engagement in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) through Interactive Digital Play-Based Learning,” authored by Syville Niño U. Dumanoñ, Anna Kristine C. Tagulao, Mae Claire R. Inciong, Dr. Jean T. Loquillano, and Aiza Mae D. Cahansa. The study was published in the Oro Journal of Sustainability and Development Research (OIJSDR).
The research explores the effectiveness of integrating interactive digital play-based learning strategies into Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) to enhance student engagement and participation. It highlights how digital tools and game-based approaches can transform traditional classroom environments into more dynamic and learner-centered spaces.
Using a practical research design involving Grade 8 students, the study gathered data through pre-tests and post-tests, classroom observations, surveys, and interviews. The findings revealed that students exposed to interactive digital play-based learning demonstrated increased motivation, improved participation, and stronger collaboration compared to those who experienced traditional instructional approaches.
The study further emphasizes that interactive learning environments not only enhance academic engagement but also foster positive attitudes toward learning, particularly in subjects that require hands-on and skill-based competencies such as TLE. It also suggests that integrating digital tools can help address challenges related to limited resources and varying levels of student interest.
This publication underscores the potential of innovative teaching strategies in improving learning outcomes and encourages educators to adopt technology-driven approaches that create more engaging and effective educational experiences.
This achievement reflects CCCDO’s continued commitment to advancing research, innovation, and quality education while empowering both educators and learners in an evolving digital landscape.
