Something exciting is brewing right now at the College of Business and Management (CBM) of the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO). The department is celebrating a week of leadership wins, top-tier training honors, and professional milestones that lay the groundwork for a major new development. These significant milestones give CBM students a strong competitive edge in the real world. Students can look forward to opportunities that will set them apart long before they even set foot on the graduation stage. This momentum centers around a significant leap forward in faculty training, highlighted by major achievements at Central Mindanao University (CMU) and CCCDO's Technical Skills and Training Institute (TSTI), where members of the team even brought home outstanding performance honors.
The main highlight of the week took place on July 10, 2026, at CMU, where the Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) Chairperson, Mr. Joseph G. Barillo, officially marched to celebrate finishing his Master in Business Administration (MBA) studies, which he successfully completed in 2025. His walk across the stage is a proud moment for the entire department. As the leader of the BSOA program, his advanced studies strengthen the leadership of the college, ensuring lessons remain modern and deeply connected to how the business world actually works today.
This big milestone was paired with another department achievement just days earlier on July 8, 2026, at the TSTI Graduation Ceremony, showing how dedicated the CBM team is to learning practical skills right within the institution's own training field. Leading by example, a core group of CBM teachers completed intense training to graduate from the Bookkeeping NCIII program. A distinct point of pride for the college was the recognition of the Dean, Dr. Rowena R. Orbeta, and the BSE Chairperson, Dr. Mary Joy C. Teodosio, who both graduated from the program and were formally honored as Outstanding Trainees for their exceptional performance.
Completing this dedicated team was Ms. Catherine P. Uayan, who also successfully finished her Bookkeeping NCIII training. Mr. Barillo secured a double win for the week by finishing his NCIII training alongside his graduation march. By undergoing this training together and achieving top honors, the leadership team has officially started the engine for the exciting developments coming next for the students.
