The Guidance, Counseling, and Assessment Services Office successfully conducted the Parentsโ General Orientation for the incoming first-year students and transferees of SY 2026-2027 on July 20, 2026, at the Barangay Agusan Gymnasium. The activity was attended by 139 parents, guardians, and authorized representatives.
With the theme โParents as Partners: Strengthening Home-School Collaboration for Student Success,โ the orientation aimed to strengthen cooperation between the College and families in supporting studentsโ academic growth, personal development, and overall well-being.
The program began with registration, preliminaries, and welcome remarks by the Director of Student Affairs and Services, Dr. Mark Raymond S. Tan, CSASS, followed by an interactive activity that encouraged parents to share their hopes and aspirations for their children as they begin their college journey. The College Dean of the College of Business and Management, Dr. Rowena R. Orbeta, CPA, LPT; the College Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Donna Grace I. Cotejo, LPT and the College of Education, Dr. Liza L. Chua, LPT, discussed student life, academic expectations, institutional standards, available opportunities, and the shared responsibilities of students, parents, and the College.
Directors and heads of offices in the Student Affairs, Health Services, Registrar, Library, and Guidance also presented their respective services. They discussed important matters concerning fees, school uniforms, student manuals, student conduct, health assistance, academic records, learning resources, counseling, career guidance, mental health, and psychosocial support.
An open forum provided parents and guardians with the opportunity to raise questions and clarify concerns regarding academic and student services. The orientation concluded with a parents' commitment-sharing activity, a group pledge, and a photo opportunity.
The activity equipped parents and guardians with essential information while reinforcing their commitment to working closely with the College in helping students successfully adjust to college life and achieve academic success.
