The City College of Cagayan de Oroโ€“Technical Skills and Technology Institute (CCCDOโ€“TSTI) conducted its In-Service Training (INSET) on August 19โ€“20, 2026, at the Session Hall of RIMCU, Xavier University โ€“ Ateneo de Cagayan. The activity opened with a โ€œKumustahanโ€ session, followed by an overview of the INSET delivered by Mr. Mark Adrian Baa, Vocational Instruction Supervisor, setting the direction for the learning sessions.

The first day focused on strengthening TVET instruction and quality, with sessions on trainer excellence, competency-based instruction and assessment, quality assurance, and industry engagement. Mr. Julius Ceasar S. Ramayla, Senior TESD Specialist of the TESDA Regional Training Centerโ€“Tagoloan; Ms. Mirasol T. Aput, TSD2/UPTRAS Focal of the TESDA Provincial Officeโ€“Misamis Oriental; and Mr. Jerome Torres, MAEd, Head, Local Economic Enterprise, shared insights and practical approaches to strengthen training delivery, uphold standards, and build meaningful industry partnerships.

The second day centered on professional growth and workplace excellence, covering the continuing role of TVET, effective classroom and training management, professionalism, and positive workplace practices. Sessions were facilitated by Mr. Josef Rod L. Lilogon, Chief TESD Specialist of TESDA Regional Officeโ€“Region X; Dr. Maria Aira Cheness A. Aguilar, Director of the Office of Curriculum & Instruction; and Dr. Faith Q. Colarte, RGC, Director of Student Welfare Services, providing participants with meaningful insights they can apply in their respective roles. Adding significance to the activity was the Message of Support from College President Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, Ed.D., who shared his confidence in the direction TSTI is taking. He emphasized that TSTI is steadily moving in the right direction, encouraging the trainers and staff to continue working together, stay committed to their goals, and build on the progress already made.

The activity concluded with Closing Remarks from Mr. Karl Hein M. Pios, Vocational School Administrator, emphasizing the value of continuous learning, teamwork, and professional growth. More than a training activity, the INSET provided the TSTI team with an opportunity to learn, reflect, reconnect, and grow togetherโ€”strengthening their commitment to delivering quality, relevant, and industry-responsive technical-vocational education and training.
