CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY β The City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) strengthened its commitment to internationalization and academic excellence through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United Federation of Fil-Am Educators, Inc. (UNIFFIED) on August 14, 2026, at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
The agreement was formalized during the 2026 UNIFFIED International Educators Summit, which carried the theme βEducators as Changemakers: Redefining Learning in a Borderless World.β
Representing CCCDO, College President Dr. Jestoni P. Babia signed the agreement alongside officers and representatives of UNIFFIED, marking a significant milestone in the institutionβs efforts to establish meaningful partnerships with international organizations and professional networks.
Witnessing the signing ceremony were Dr. Donna Grace I. Cotejo, Director for Internationalization, and Dr. Joel D. Potane, Director for Research, Innovation, and Technology Transfer Services. Their presence underscored the complementary roles of international engagement and research development in strengthening CCCDOβs institutional partnerships.
The collaboration opens opportunities for scholarly exchange, research cooperation, professional development, and the sharing of educational practices among Filipino and Filipino-American educators. It likewise creates pathways for future initiatives that can benefit CCCDO faculty members, researchers, and students through wider engagement with the international academic community.
As part of the summit, Dr. Babia also delivered a plenary presentation on Education for Sustainable Development, highlighting the role of education in equipping learners and communities to respond to social, economic, and environmental challenges.
