The City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO), through the Guidance, Counseling and Assessment Services Office in collaboration with the Peer Facilitatorsโ Circle (PFC), conducted the CCCDOโPFC Re-echoes: PeerKada Training and Peer Support on September 4, 2026, at LBA 103.
Held in observance of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the training, themed โStart the Conversation,โ equipped 19 peer facilitators with essential skills in active listening, empathy, mental health awareness, supportive communication, and appropriate referral.
Through interactive discussions and role-playing activities, participants learned how to recognize signs of distress, provide initial peer support, and encourage fellow students to seek professional help when needed.
The activity reinforced CCCDOโs commitment to fostering a compassionate, inclusive, and mentally healthy academic commwithout judgment, connect with care, and never hesitate to seek professional help when needed.
