The City College of CDO-Technical Skills and Technology Insitute (TSTI) strengthened its partnership with TESDA Region X through an exploratory meeting to advance its tech-voc programs on August 12, 2024, Monday, during the Kahigayonan Skills Expo and Job Fair Launch at Centrio Ayala Malls.
Attendees included Prof. Mary Vil Acenas, Vocational School Administrator; Prof. Jett Torres, Director of Lifelong Learning and Professional Development; and Ms. Rutche Montano, Unified TVET Program Registrations & Accreditations (UTPRAS) Officer. Representing TESDA were the newly appointed Regional Director, Dir. Rafael Y. Abrogar II, and TESDA Misamis Oriental Provincial Director, Dir. Marigold Cherie R. Garrido.
The discussion focused on updates regarding TSTI’s programs, registration processes, and tech-voc scholarships. These programs include institution-based, community-based, and the Mobile Training Program (MTP), which is currently undergoing registration and inspection. The introduction of a new three-year diploma course on Industrial Technology that is set to launch next year, was also discussed.
Furthermore, the meeting included plans to establish accredited assessment centers for Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Carpentry, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Housekeeping.
The City College of CDO-TSTI is grateful to TESDA Region 10 for granting slots in the Trainers Methodology (TM) course—a valuable opportunity to enhance the skills of its trainers—along with other scholarship grants for the institution's scholar-trainees.
