City College of Cagayan de Oro faculty members successfully presented their research during the recent ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐: ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ฒ๐ ๐ฌ๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐จ, an esteemed international conference on Filipino language and culture held from July 26-28, 2024, at the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture.
Prof. Charlie Job Sumili, Director of the Center for Culture, Language, and the Arts, and his co-researcher, Ms. Jessa Mae Dugenio, presented their papers titled "Bikas-Sulat: Pagsusuri sa mga Morpemang Hiram" and "Kultura at Identidad: Pagsasalubong sa mga Piling Ritwal ng Hilagang Mindanao." Their research delved into the complexities of Philippine linguistic and cultural heritage, with a focus on Region Xโs scholars, linguists, and educators.
Meanwhile, Prof. Sumili's was recently elected as the Regional Representative of the Pambansang Samahan ng Wika at Kulturaโa prestigious organization established by leaders of language and culture centers across the Philippinesโfurther highlighted the recognition of the City Collegeโs researcherโs capabilities. Prof. Sumili and Ms. Dugenio express their gratitude to the City College of Cagayan de Oro and Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy for their steadfast support, which has been instrumental in their success at LIRIP 8.
