A total of 62 Housekeeping NC II trainees from the City College of CDO-TSTI went on a learning exchange through job shadowing at Hotel 801. This happened on June 11, 24, and 25, 2024. This effort was smoothly integrated into the curriculum, providing students with real-world exposure and insights into the hotel industry's operations.

Organized as a supervised career exploration activity under TESDA Circular No. 018, s. 2023, the program allowed our trainees to observe professionals in action, gaining a deeper understanding of workplace dynamics and the practical application of their training. The trainees had the opportunity to observe various aspects of hotel operations, including housekeeping reports, chemical usage, room cleaning procedures, laundry management, and towel folding techniques.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hotel 801's General Managers, Ms. Nelia G. Demesmaeker and Ms. Apple T. Mutia. Our devoted team of housekeeping trainers—Ms. Omiya O. Linog, Ms. Gay Marie C. Hawinay, and Mr. Mark Adrian S. Baa—as well as the Community Partnership Coordinator, Ms. Gemma E. Gonzales; English for tourism focal, Ms. Cherry Hope C. Casino; Industry Coordinator for the Tourism and Health Sector, Ms. Mariel L. Curit; and Vocational School Administrator, Mr. Jett L. Torres

Congratulations to all participants on a successful job-shadowing experience! Stay tuned for more updates on our educational initiatives at the City College of Cagayan de Oro.
