On April 17, 2024, Hon. Robert Jones Closas, Vice Mayor of the LGU of Mambajao, Camiguin, led a delegation, including members of its legislative council, to the Agusan Campus of the City College of Cagayan de Oro for a benchmarking activity focusing on technical vocational training and education.
The visit commenced with a campus tour, showcasing facilities and workshop rooms dedicated to skills training in the tourism, health, and construction sectors. Dr. Ray Butch Mahinay, the Associate Vice President for Academics, then extended a warm welcome on behalf of College President Dr. Jestoni Babia, emphasizing the significance of the activity. Subsequently, discussions delved into the organizational structure, institutional history, and detailed overview of the City College, with a particular focus on its techvoc programs which provided valuable insights for the aforementioned LGU.
The City College expressed gratitude for recognizing its best practices accumulated over the years, viewing the benchmarking activity as an opportunity for mutual growth and enhancement in technical vocational education.
