The City College of Cagayan de Oro achieved a significant milestone for submitting the Institutional Recognition (IR) requirements and Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for its three pioneering bachelor’s degree programs to the Commission on Higher Education Region X (CHED R10) on May 27, 2024.
Led by the Interim President, Dr. Jestoni Babia, alongside members of the Academics Cluster, headed by Associate VP Dr. Ray Butch Mahinay, and the Social Formation Cluster, led by Prof. Maria Victoria Trinidad, MAEd, the institution acknowledges their collective efforts in diligently meeting CHED's requirements.
The submission of both IR and COPC documents highlights the City College of CDO's steadfast dedication to providing quality, relevant, and free education to underserved individuals, aiming to transform them into future-ready and empowered youth.
As the City College of CDO anticipates positive recognition towards acquiring HEI status from CHED to officially offer its three 4-year degree courses for Academic Year 2024 – 2025, the institution is deeply grateful to Mayor Rolando Klarex A. Uy and his office for their continued support of the college’s endeavors. Mayor Uy’s commitment to education has been instrumental in advancing the institution’s mission and goals through his RISE agenda, ensuring that educational opportunities are accessible to the Kagay-anons.
Likewise, the City College of CDO would like to extend its appreciation to Dr. Freddie T. Bernal, Director, and Ms. Miriam B. Fuentes, Chief Education Program Specialist of CHED Regional Office X, for their presence during the submission.
