The City College of CDO, through its Finance Division, participated in the 2-day National Summit on Government Procurement held from April 29-30, 2024, at the Iloilo Convention Center (ICON), Iloilo City.
Mr. Karl Hein Pios, LPT - OIC Director for Finance; Mr. John Patrick Jerezon, LPT - Payroll and Procurement Management Officer; Ms. Anjanette Vicky Mae Escalona, Budget Management Officer; and Ms. Titus Torres, Procurement Officer, represented the institution during the national summit.
Organized by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Inc., this capacity-building activity aims to assist public institutions in implementing effective and efficient government procurement processes, focusing specifically on areas such as Government Procurement 101, Procurement Planning and Budget Linkage, including Early Procurement Activities, Alternative Methods in Procurement, Framework Agreement, and Green Public Procurement (GPP).
Atty. Jennifer Torril, the Resource Speaker on day 1, highlighted the importance of having the Annual Procurement Plan (APP) in facilitating treasury management by strategically distributing annual procurement activities in alignment with available resources and current needs for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Meanwhile, Engr. Josue O. Mirabite, the Resource Speaker on day 2, emphasized the significance of green procurement, as it promotes sustainability across supply chains and organizational operations, aiming to reduce waste and minimize negative impacts on the environment.
