In recognition of its vital contribution to child welfare and governance, the City College of Cagayan de Oro was formally acknowledged at the Child-Friendly City Awards held on March 13, 2025. Represented by Dr. Jean Loquillano, CCCDO was cited for its integral role as an evaluator in the search for model barangays and its advocacy for child-focused governance.

Adding to the honor, Dr. Jean Loquillano was also individually recognized for her outstanding contributions as one of the evaluators, further exemplifying the college’s commitment to developing leaders who actively advocate for children's rights and well-being. Her recognition reflects CCCDO’s dedication to meaningful community involvement and the promotion of inclusive, child-friendly initiatives. Spearheaded by Oro Youth and the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), the award celebrates the collective efforts of participating institutions in promoting and protecting children’s rights across Cagayan de Oro.
